 Johan Agebjörn
Music has always been an important part of Johan Agebjörn’s life. At five years old he was studying classical Piano and singing in choirs. At the age of ten, a classmate gave him a tape of “Italo Disco” music; an underground form of electronic
dance music that began to take shape in the early 1980’s.
“I immediately fell in love with it and from then on, I realized that what I really wanted to create was electronic music.”
In 2007 Johan saw that desire become a reality in a big way as producer, writer, and creative force behind the popular Sally
Shapiro. Their release Disco Romance soon became one of the years diamonds in the rough, earning an 8.5/10 and “Best
New Music” at Pitchfork, and a number 11 position in the iTunes US electronic charts.
On his solo debut, Mossebo, Agebjörn features the vocals of Lisa Barra, whose passion for the folk music of different
cultures lends a timeless quailty to Mossebo that transcends the limits of most modern electronic ambient music.
